Synchronize Items with source material is a job in Item Bank Health Check (IBHC) that evaluates whether Items within your bank remain aligned with a source document stored in the Knowledge Bank.
This functionality identifies assessment content that has diverged from its original source material, enabling you to conduct targeted reviews and necessary updates.

When to use this job
The synchronize Items with source material job is particularly effective when you need to:
- Address document updates: Quickly identify Items that require revision following modifications to their underlying source text.
- Verify content integrity: Ensure a specific Collection of assessment Items accurately represents the facts in a reference document.
Running the job
- Open the Learnosity Console and navigate to Item Bank Health Check.
- Create a Collection or select an existing one with the Item bank you want to analyze.
- Click on Create and select Synchronize Items with Source Document from the menu of available job types.
- In the Source document field, search for a document from your Knowledge Bank.
- Initiate the process by clicking Run job.
The time required for completion depends on the volume of content within the Collection.
Reviewing results
Following the analysis of the Collection, two review spaces provide a list of Items that contain alignment discrepancies.
Action review:
- Items in this space have been flagged for a potential discrepancy with the source material. Each entry displays the modified Item alongside the AI's reasoning, so you can quickly evaluate the recommendation.
- For every flagged Item, you can accept the suggested correction, manually refine the changes or dismiss the recommendation.
Guided Fixes review:
- Items in this space require human input. The right-side panel explains the required change and lets you edit the Item accordingly.
- You can then accept the modification, or dismiss the suggestion and leave the Item unchanged.
